What is the Enrolled Agent exam?
The IRS Special Enrollment Examination tests federal tax knowledge in three parts and is one pathway to practicing as an Enrolled Agent.
What does the EA exam cover?
Part 1 covers individual taxes; Part 2 covers business taxes; and Part 3 covers representation, professional practices and procedures.
How long is each exam part?
Each SEE part has 100 questions, including 85 scored and 15 unscored, with 3.5 hours of examination time.
Do I have to take the three parts in order?
No. The IRS permits the parts to be taken in any order under its applicable examination rules.
Are the teaching questions official PSI questions?
No. AcademyTaxPro creates independent educational questions. We do not publish actual, leaked or proprietary official examination questions.
Does finishing the course guarantee a passing result?
No. Scores depend on individual preparation and exam performance. Our goal is better understanding through careful explanations, not a guarantee.
Are the additional professional courses worth CE/CPE credit?
Not yet. Professional learning is planned as non-credit training first. Any CE/CPE claims will follow the required provider approvals.
See the IRS official exam guidance for current examination requirements.
