Five-step change-control process
- Monitor: check official source pages for revised exam windows, fees, provider guidance, content outlines, IRS tax-law changes, forms or deadlines.
- Capture: record the source, publication and effective dates, prior wording, revised wording and impact in an update log.
- Compare: distinguish changes for the 2026–2027 SEE (2025 tax law) from developments that affect later exam cycles only.
- Approve: a reviewer verifies technical accuracy, applicability and dependent explanations and questions. Unapproved edits are held privately.
- Publish and audit: use a reviewed GitHub pull request, version notes, tests and an updated "last reviewed" date. Keep a correction history.
Automation without risky auto-publishing
AcademyTaxPro can run a daily source-monitoring workflow to open a private GitHub review issue when an official IRS or PSI source changes. This creates a review queue; it must not silently rewrite a tax answer or the site's exam outline. Security and content review remain separate from deployment.
Even if no update was detected by a monitor, official sources are always authoritative. Consult the links above for time-sensitive scheduling and testing decisions.
Help us report an outdated statement
If you notice a mismatch, save the official source URL and the relevant exam cycle, then contact the AcademyTaxPro team. For a controlled internal audit, use the fillable official-source update log.
